Tonight the skies will burst and blaze
in gilted colours edged with gold;
in myriad hues and flashing rays,
a dazzling showcase uncontrolled.

The stars will pale in shock, surprise,
in utter disbelief and awe,
The lovelight fading from their eyes,
to see a sight they never saw...

Golden fountains, silver flowers,
Red roses shimmer, softly gleam;
Blue bells chime at midnight's hour,
Green leaves glimmer, quietly beam.

Men paint the sky with coloured fire,
Bright symbols of their hope and desire.
