Hard Lessons Poem by Ana Monnar

Hard Lessons

Recapture what I lost
Except through potent dreams and memories
Fighting feelings of frustration
It is not done easily
Humble heart I do possess
Compelling strive to survive
Is in my destiny
I will not drown in self-pity or vulnerability
I will learn from the hard lessons
and will become more skillfully
I will live to experience the tale
Of wisdom plowing through the snow
Eyes wide open to view intentions
That might drag me down the slope
Disappointment and distress of effects beyond my control
Has taken its toll, but will not slip and fall into the hole
Progress and opportunity will come knocking at my door
