the table? ”

Only I
Mis-hear

&
lay you

(to your great yet
grateful surprise)

on
the table

cutlery & crockery
crashing to the floor.

“Wow...! ”

“When you mis-hear...you
sure mis-hear! ”

Then you stroke
your hair

back into place


& I
sheepishly

lay
the table.
