Harvey's Lullaby Poem by Mark Heathcote

Harvey's Lullaby

Harvey, Harvey, drives a red Ferrari
around St. Peters Square.

Eating an apple or a pear
he really - really, doesn't care.

He'll drive it right around there, I swear
right around that great-big-Egyptian-obelisk

And park it just there.
'In the Centre of—St. Peters Square'

He's only 4yrs old and free from the thrall
its tight bondage, that serfdom of prayer.

He'll sit and stare at its red granite.
And listen to his-own-little pomp - fanfare.

Like Pope Alexander VII
with brothers and nephews in-car-toe, coheir.
