Hat And I Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Hat And I

Rating: 3.5

Hat and I

Like snow in the pot on fire
I melt, shrink; now flake, granule
How small: “I need help”
Hear my shout…

More you see, questions raise
More you learn more feel lost.

“Make a judge, ” was advice
Is advice and remains; for the wise
“Of your hat, ”

It means be, you and you, no one else
No ear for bluffs, and your lies.

“Hey drop” in sky
In desert, in iceberg
One red cell, of blood
Who the hell, what am I?
Single bee in bear-palm; I am lost
Am I ant, desert storms, hills of sand?

I will burn, and will fade, evaporate
Who the hell, what am I?
Whom to fool?
Why to lie?

I flip the paper, both sides white.
Nobody…I am none…that is all.

I see our characters
In her book, Word-Lady’s
Origin animals, pig, horse, cow.

Make a judge, of your hat
Is honest, does not lie.

Hat and I, and the words
Bless me, I confess:
“Do not lie.”
