Hatch Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Hatch

Hatch

All its life the condor
Was living in the cage.

When taken to mountains
At cliff, it was set.

Saw the wings on its sides:
"What are they? " knew not!

Flapped them many times,
In curved form and upright,
Everything was puzzle:
"What is the use of them? "

Bird stared at all sides,
Was afraid to fly.

This is us and our life!

We are forced into cage:
"This is good, that, better! "

Religions and cultures
Politics, governments
Are nothing but cages…

We are fooled to accept:
"Sell the Hell, buy Heaven! "

My brothers, sisters,
Black, White, all races
Unite, open cages.

Let us hatch, break shell,
We must live out of cage!

Synagogues, Mosque, Churches
Their rabbis and leaders,
Shrines of all the faiths
And the National Anthems
Are nothing but scissors!
