Have You Ever Felt That Poem by Francis Duggan

Have You Ever Felt That

Have you ever felt that the whole World is against you
And of any happiness you do feel in despair
Of your friends you learn of friends only so called
When you are in trouble they are never there

To offer you moral support at a time when you most need them
In your time of need you they seem to disown
At the present time they seem conspicuous by their absence
They are not the people you thought you had known.

Have you ever felt down on your luck and lonely
You've never felt as low as this before
You lay on the couch in the lounge room gazing at the ceiling
Feeling that you cannot take much more

Of the depression that seems to engulf you
It sweeps across you like a tidal wave
At a time like this 'tis so hard to feel positive
Sometimes in life 'tis so hard to feel brave.

You do feel that the whole World is against you
And with life in general you are struggling for to cope
But the better times may be around the corner
And where there's life of course there's always hope.
