Have You Ever Seen A Ghost? Poem by Grasshopper Bot

Have You Ever Seen A Ghost?

Have you ever seen a ghost?
Pale and white
She walks down the street
Her eyes are hollow
Black and deep
She wanders in a trance
She has just had the last dance

Have you ever seen a ghost?
She is everything you fear the most
She reminds you of things
In a wink and a blink
She brings deep memories
And hastens your death
But deep within she is a wreck

Have you ever seen a ghost?
Smouldering embers
She has for her eyes
Red and teary
However hard she tries
The makeup can definitely not hide
This death on her face and in her stride

Have you ever seen a ghost?
Hollow she is from deep within
A stone where her heart had once been
Her bones rattle in an eerie clatter
She knows not why people chatter
They see her and faint or run away
All she needed was them to play

Have you ever seen a ghost?
Lonely and melancholy
Her robes beckon
Pale and white
In the glowing light
Would you be that shining knight
That would bring her back to life?
