Alas! I wait with bated breath
For words that would bring me wealth
A treasure of kindness
Mixed with gems of faithfulness
A bar of shining gold
A golden soul to make me whole
Hark! I hear it coming
But I know tis not to be
This wait is so annoying
I think it will be for eternity
But the promise and the hope I see
Is a life of endless serenity
