He Became Old And Deaf! Poem by Dr.V.K. Kanniappan

I went for shopping and for attending
A music concert on consequent weeks
In spite of the heavily cloudy sky!

Both times I asked my wife to pray Rain God
For not raining for two to three hours
For enabling me to meet a friend in rail station!

Since Rain God gave powers for chaste women
Who need not pray the God, but prays their husband,
That rain may pour if they order;

Using the same trick, I asked her pray in reverse
To stop the rain till I return home after sending my friend off,
She did so and prayed the Rain god to stop!

This time also, I came drenched in rain,
My wife worriedly asked the rain God’; He said he could
Not hear her voice since he became OLD and DEAF!
