He Came Down Poem by Gary James Smith

He Came Down

Rating: 4.8

He Came Down

He came down to rescue me
And lifted me with love
He took my sin upon Himself
And shed His precious blood
All the condemnation I deserved
He dismissed it when I believed
Praise God for this so great Salvation
When Lord Jesus I received

His love drew me to the Cross
I felt my soul's sinful condition
And realized because of it
My Lord was beaten beyond recognition
He took it all...God's wrath for me
When He Himself knew not one sin
His love for us held Him fast
His death purchased our eternity with Him

Praise God He came down
That we might live on High
Wrought a work of righteousness
That only He could supply
To make us fit for Heaven
To great the Father there
He came down...He came down
Spread those tidings everywhere

Hallelujah what a Saviour!
