He Rebelled Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

He Rebelled

He rebelled

Last night I
-copied what did Saffar.

He was of Khorasan
-East part of Now-Iran.

He too, felt that the judge
-and leader were corrupt
-using name of Islam.

He gathered horse and arms
-declared war on Baghdad
-capital for Caliph of Islam.

Dangerous, he became
-for the then government
-as is North Korea for Trump.

Foxy are powerful
-cheaters use all the tools
-shed tears when fear a failure
-and the kind becomes fooled…
-caresses and accepts the snake.

Wish we did what they would
-if caught us
-trapped us
- (doubtlessly would skin…)

The rebel met agent
-of Caliph who got there
-asked his men to witness.

Simple was his message as they ate:
- "This is what I lived on;
-will go on…if ever lose the war.
-But will chew the neck of
-the lavish invader
-in the case of success."

His diet was bread-onion.
