Heart Changes Poem by Edwina Reizer

Heart Changes

The heart of a woman is as big as the sky
and stars sparkle inside.
All it takes for this feeling to happen
comes from the rushing tide
that sweeps over her and crests,
then subsides and rests.

One man can bring this passion
and one man can take it away.
For the heart of a woman can change in size
and the sparkle will not stay.
It drifts aimlessly inside her chest.
It aches with memories from before
when it was as high as the sky
but now as low as the floor.
