Heaven Was Waiting

Rating: 5.0

Heaven Was Waiting

Heaven was waiting for earth to receive
The song for soul's to be set free
The angels were rejoicing when they were chosen
To announce the birth of the virgin born baby
Imagine that you were a Shepherd
Watching your flocks by night
And suddenly an angel appears in visitation
With a message soon to be to your delight

For with a Spirit of optimism
They said unto them...fear not!
For unto this day born in Bethlehem
Is a Saviour whom Salvation will wrought
The King of glory in an attribute of innocence
In a lowly manger lay
Marked with a grave as His destination
To deliver us from sin one day

The unraveling of that revelation
Brought wonderment I'm sure
As the shepherds marvelled at the glad tidings they received
That they were so priviledged to hear
I even wonder at the sheep themselves
As the song from Heaven was sung
I can just imagine the look on their faces
As their heavenward look had begun

How many of them were to become sacrifices
For the Passover remembrance day
While the Sacrificial Lamb of God lay before them
In that lowly manger of hay
The Creator meeting His creation
The virgin born Lamb of God
Clothed with an extraordinary humility
Fulfilling His prophetic Word

The greatest news ever on earth was received
In the hearts of those shepherds that day
When glory came down in the form of that
Saviour
To give men a new living way
For the Light of the world had arisen in hearts
Who were awarded the birth of a King
None to compare with that Child laying there
For it was Heaven's Finest Offering!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!
