Heavenly Silence Poem by Mario, Lucien, Rene Odekerken

Heavenly Silence

Fields, white frosted plains
meadows, canals, mist and dew
but also black crows,
deer and wild boar

No church towers or skyscrapers
as landmarks
but floodplains and dark,
black fertile soil

Crowing roosters, whizzing cars
adduced by the wind
monotone whisper
of the highway in the distance

Silence brings heaven closer
