Hellcat Poem by Barry Middleton

Hellcat

the hellcat prowls the dark of night
to cast a spell

be warned she is a sorceress
you cannot quell

the mystery and allure of her
enchanting dance

may bind the soul forever in
a breathless trance

a metaphor of bondage holds
the will at bay

despite the loosened memory
of yesterday

nor may you heed the warning cry
of frail despair

the wail of one who almost broke
her evil snare
