I came upon a worn country church
Why, it was just the other day
I could picture folks a hundred years ago
How they bowed their heads and prayed
A little ‘ole church in the country
A place to worship on Sunday
That day was set aside for Him
Not thinking what happens on Monday
Folks dressed in their tattered but clean
Clothes that they set aside as well
For it was their time to let God know
That truth was important to tell
And they didn’t forget to worship
Whenever they felt the need
While doing their chores each day
Their souls they continued to feed
Maybe we can find the time as well
To just stop once in awhile
Remember the folks back long ago
Life so hard it was difficult to smile
But they found the time for God
So often as they did their chores
They’d stop, relax and take the time
Take a deep breath and say, “Hello Lord! ”
