Her Love, Our Foundation Poem by Yousif Ibrahim Abubaker Abdalla

Her Love, Our Foundation

A mother carried us for months before we took our first breath, enduring the pain of childbirth just to bring us into this world. She was the dawn that cradled our first giggles, the gentle light that eased our fears and struggles. Her caring hands met our every little need, guiding us like a star showing right from wrong. She was the steady current flowing through our actions, the unseen force that kept our lives moving forward. The soft breeze that calmed our frightened cries, the patient earth that supported our playful adventures. She was the hidden flame that sparked our curious eyes, always watching over us throughout our growing years. No single day can truly capture her full reward our lives are a beautiful reflection of the love she poured into us.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM: This poem was created on Sunday, March 21,2026. It's a heartfelt tribute to the unwavering and selfless dedication of mothers. While many cultures set aside a special day to honor them, the truth is that their influence and care extend far beyond any single date on the calendar. I wanted to capture both the tangible acts of nurturing like carrying, feeding, teaching, and comforting and the deep, lasting impact they have on our lives. In this piece, I've blended the everyday actions of a mother with rich metaphorical imagery, turning her daily sacrifices into a poetic homage to her enduring presence. Each line is designed to celebrate not just what a mother does, but also the invisible, nurturing force of her love that supports us throughout our lives. This serves as a gentle reminder that our gratitude for parents isn't limited to just one day; it's intricately woven into the very fabric of our existence.
