She asked a question with deepened thought
An answer she had anxiously sought,
The question had to do with two affirmations
And their two different obligations.
The question pertained to two different emotional feelings
Leading maybe to two different dealings,
She asked what is the difference of the two
What is the difference between, "I like", and "I love you".
So, I looked and I prayed and I wondered
Then through my mind and thoughts I pondered,
As I walked through the garden in my yard
As I thought and searched in my soul very hard.
Then when with kindness and love at my flowers I did stare
As in my garden they were residing over there,
Then I was gifted an answer to her question
As I myself had also learned a valuable lesson.
So, I took and then I led her by the hand
To where beside beautiful flowers her and I both did stand,
I said, "Whenever you like a flower, you just pluck it"
"But, when you love a flower, you water it."
