Her Softness Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Her Softness

Her softness’s on my chest
I lie down as I did as a child
In the shades, bush, tree, hot
Leaves dancing with breeze
And the fruits hung like bell
Scarlet creeping over corpse
Pears, apples and the grapes
Now she’s soft, sight-covers
Days come back and Ahmad
He’s set a snake on my chest
Calling me “There’s a serpent
Curled on you; do not move, ”
And afraid I do freeze, a stick
He is right. I can feel but hear
Not serpent that is killed. But
Laughter is killing, I’m joker
He is lead as has been forever
Blue blanket on my top, roof
Sure small but its soft-warmth
Binding me to this earth, soul
Flies far away, childhood day
It flies everywhere in the skies
Till call comes inviting, “Hey
Wake up. It’s time, hurry up.”
Blanket is taken, dreams gone.
