Her Stop Poem by Dónall Dempsey

Her Stop

Rating: 5.0

A butterfly
takes the Underground

and in a packed
Tube

sits quietly on
the only available seat

talking to
itself.

Nobody dares
to disturb it.

At the next stop
it jumps up

to let a heavily
pregnant lady

take her seat

& flutters out
the closing door

almost
missing

her
stop.
