Here Comes The Floods... Poem by Sebastian Melmoth

Here Comes The Floods...

Here comes the floods
Rivers rising, feeling unsafe at home, damaged livelihoods

The human cost
People displaced, their treasured possessions lost

Caring for strangers fete
Communities rally together, volunteer and donate

Can't take it anymore
Rain, go away global warming's ore

Wanting a visit
Kay at Sky asks where's the PM to empathise not being distant or implicit

Action please
Along with some reassurance and a few guarantees

Hopes light
Defences trying to put up a good fight

Latest episode
Dealing with the here and now, battling today and praying that more can be done to help communities along the road.
