Here's The Thing Poem by Jason R Tschetter

Here's The Thing

<Swaying to the sound of your whisper
holding onto the wind pushing the rain
these possible impossible things hold fast
The sounds of the silence burst in my mind
then the days are simply nights held in contrast

For what you see as the slowing of time
I see as the pass of my innocent life
So I laugh quickly in the face of death
holding fast my knowledge of life
Still the impossible possibility of all but a breath

Cut that wrist with no pain or regret
hold your life in your hands with that blade
Press it into your skin ever so deep
The cold of steel meets the heat of your blood
Then the sorrow will stop impossibly with sleep>
