Heroes (Elegy For A Friend) Poem by Frank James Ryan Jr...fjr

Heroes (Elegy For A Friend)

Rating: 5.0

Sacrificing the ordinary...they ride
stone white horses sans the reigns
over black, cold tumorous mountains,
and they do so... because they can.

Insistence- the keystone of strength,
persistence- the headstone to cower,
resistance- to the warrants of danger
make heroes.....because they just do.

All Life must have veins of influence
for Death to have its badge of honor;
it's far harder to lead- than to follow;
heroes lead because they know how to.

Heroes sacrifice, because someone must,
some disappear, like the last drop of sunset,
into the ocean unseen, unsung;
Isn't that just how they would want it?

Sleep deep in pleasure, my cohort in chaos...

I don't know about the ghost riders of New York, but I understand and appreciate your thoughts.

A friend scarifies for another when there is deep love and affection. Life must have veins of influence. Death is a truth and we accept and honour. Into the unseen ocean heroes sacrifice. They sleep in deep pleasure and we pray for their peace. An amazing poem is well drafted. A courageous story poem is shared...10
