Literary giants and All Blacks
must test of time cut tracks
into fan psyche of audiences
fleet moments of fame falls
to indefeatable time age marches
into muscles minds dust accumulates
retirement death awaits all players
heroes must fall in echo silences
new literary giants arise
old are time chopped down discards
new athlete giants arise
old are benched performance replaced
do they fade into ripples
decreasing or are they resurrected
into remembrance halls
halls of fame time honour elected?
