Hidden Behind A Mask Poem by Saane Pahulu

Hidden Behind A Mask

Rating: 5.0

No emotions behind these eyes
caged thoughts and feeings hidden within
signs of laughter erased from these lips
standing hard with a smirk to cover the traces of happiness.

Crying with despair and loneliness
behind this cold surface
A weak person shivers in a corner
awaiting to resurface in the dead of night.

Fake smiles and confidence
over shadows the insecurities
satisfaction only comes when blood spilld
from the slits on the soft pale arms.

Hate for thy existence lingers on the air
suffocating the vulnerable being
in need of love and compassion.

Lies become her friends though truth is on her side.
She lets herself be chained
no longer free in her cruel, bitter life
Locked away, hidden behind a mask...
