Hiding Poem by Jennifer Rose

Hiding

In the closet
You’ll find a pair
Of bright hazel eyes
All watery and
Body wrapped up
In a large comforter.
It’s the only protection.
Did you see her run into the closet?
To hide from your menacing eyes?
To cry in secret?
To hide from reality?
The screaming continues
Without her paying attention now.
Hiding in the closet
Was all she could do.
To ignore the feeling
Of not being wanted.
