High Hopes Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

High Hopes

Rating: 5.0

I saw you standing alone
As if devastated by cyclone
No hope of survival
And waiting for somebody's arrival

I do not know what pulled me towards
But they were unspoken words
You were just looking at sky
Asking as if to almighty "Why"?

I observed you for few minutes
Then came recognition of few notes
Were you the same I was looking for?
Why was I lonely on island so far?

I got an answer
As strong respite from rainy shower
You were needed like tree in desert
Melody with all feelings in concert

You were with high hopes
I was on high slopes
We both needed to pull together
Leave aside all including world and not to bother

What a perfect harmony it was!
I caught up with silence and pause
You just acknowledged my presence
With little smile I felt soothing presence

Since then you have become my weakness
Brought shine all along on the face
I see the bright sun shine and inhale
Fresh air in vanes to regale

I have never looked at rainbow
As color had nothing to do with thoughts flow
They were all pain and white
I had my own existence to live for and fight

I have now means to live
To spend time with aim and relive
Let some one refuse to believe
But I have found means to live
