High Hopes... Singapore
It is celebration
With jubilation
For the independence
That was gained at once
We are proud
And say loud
With one voice
For future promises
It is for the people
To observe painful struggle
That was waged by forefathers
Street hawkers, peddlers, sisters and brothers
The sky shall stand illuminated
It will be celebrated
With fun
By elders and children
It is not an unimportant occasions
But with special reasons
It is salute to unsung heroes
For their contribution we have high hopes
