Highland Hoping Poem by Randy McClave

Highland Hoping

She wished to be a punk rocker in her song
So, I know that her and I would get along,
So, unto Scotland without worries I have gone
While hoping to meet and dance with Sandi Thom.
And when I landed upon that beautiful shore
I was confused in a land that I have never been before,
I walked and I hiked for about 500 miles
And there I saw and I was greeted by proclaimer's smiles.
Then I went out to the Elephant house to eat
I was then told that I was sitting in a famous Author's seat
I looked and I smiled at my waiter with a nod and an, "okay! "
Then the waiter replied to me with a whisper, "No! JK".
I then drank and I saw a Scottish lass in her tartan skirt
With her I began to uncontrollably stutter and flirt,
Then when I was feeling a lil brave and a little ornery
I then became bond, and a little bit Connery.
So, I then continued my journey in this beautiful land
But, I got lost and confused by a screaming band,
So, I looked for assistance and help in finding my truth
I then visited Tennant in a policeman's Blue booth.
I looked and I listened for Sandi Thom seemingly everyday
But, she couldn't be found, so I sadly headed back to the USA,
I went to Scotland without worries or qualm
But, sadly I never did meet or dance with Sandi Thom.
