His Affliction Poem by Gary James Smith

His Affliction

Rating: 4.8

His Affliction

His affliction won my affection
All glory for the cross
For my sin He paid His life
He counted all the cost
He knew that I was so unable
So suffered in my stead
And offered me so great Salvation
In His rising from the dead

Now a life by His Spirit
Is mine here to enjoy
An abundant life in Jesus Christ
What a love without alloy
And fellowship with a Friend
There's no other friend like Him
Who knew the price that must be paid
And paid it for my sin

Thank You Lord for drawing me
To see the light of day
And how that darkness held me fast
And had over me such a sway
To learn of the word "repentance "
And what it meant to turn from sin
Your affliction won my affection
And I became " born again"!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!
