His Father's Child Poem by Ndina Kamaro Muofhe

His Father's Child

He remains a piece cut off from his father
Born only to find out his father is the guilty one before proven
In the same cells, he grew
A caged bird he became with limited space to fly

Sins of his father, he pays
Freedom, he was promised
Nothing is yet to be fulfilled
To his daughters, he is now lethal

Freedom now, for this caged bird
Singing songs to ease the pain felt in the cells

Rainbow was said to deliver uhuru
He never came
and all that was taught sounded lame
His pride is based on fame
When it withers he dies in shame
