The Lord hides the length
And breadth of the years
To shield you from wilting
The weary years of waiting
As He moves at His time
Dizzy and dazed and numb
And your life nearly spent
He unveils His time for you
When it is but few months
Or weeks or even days left
As He slowly brings to pass
The promise long ago given
If the wait is long and harsh
And the years heavy to bear
Take heart, the God of promise
Can neither lie nor disappoint
The darkness only lasts the night
And can never defy the daylight
