Hitler Poem by Sheena Blackhall

Hitler

Hitler, who drank half of Europe's blood
Was a vegetarian. Ordered German youth to be strong
(Hitler, who headed his Aryan super race
Was monotesticular, suffered from eczema, gripes, insomnia
Rattled with pills, topped up with barbiturates, cocaine
Had the tremors of a syphilitic in the final stages

Hitler, who massacred six million Jew
Sired no children himself, for which the world is grateful
He planned a Museum of an Extinct Race,
Plundered synagogues, homes, and ghettoes for ‘exhibits'

Hitler, the failed artist, stripped galleries of their works
Knowing the price of everything, value of nothing
When he coughed whole cities froze and withered
When he laughed, synagogues cracked their sides and fell
When he breathed out, flames leapt high in Belsen's ovens

Aged four, he nearly drowned in a frozen lake
A kind priest saved him- God! What were you thinking?
Hitler: who out Nero'ed Nero
Consulted soothsayers, shamen, the stars
His ashes are 28 feet below Berlin
Under a children's playground

Hitler, the evil doppelganger of Chaplin
Minus the hat, clown boots, the poor-me smile
