Hold Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Hold

Hold

Hey, you who holds the horse
-you who has a long rope
-of greed, bridle
-and muzzle,

Hold!
Hold!
Hold!

You may be president,
-CEO, investor;
-I don't care,
-neither they…! ! !

My heart is friendly and manly
-so, warn you by calling
-attention with warning
-be aware, look afar into the tomorrows.

See those arms?
See armies?
See them march?

In their hands
-swords, daggers
-Molotov in bottles
-grenades, carry bombs.

They have left tanks, planes
-they walk, walk, longest walks
-lifeless are as mummies and robots.

Connect dot, draw lines
-them to you
-is it not the shortest?
-direct line?

Now look at Pyongyang
-Washington
-and the waves in sky.

Are they winds
-of threat?
-or real?

Now reroute
-to your heart
-to your mind
-to your tongue

Do you not find a base?
-in your head, transponder?
-yourself at throwing the stones in water?
-making waves after waves?

Hey, you who rides the horse
-holding a long, long rope
-of greed and bully
-to weave a bridle
-tough muzzle,

Hold!
Hold!
Hold!

You may be president
-CEO, investor
-I don't care
-neither they…! ! !

You may earn billions
-run the banks, companies
-of drugs, pharmacies
-or hotels round the world
-and all named after you

Hold!
Hold!
Hold!

Neither I care nor they!
-We, Zombies, are lifeless! ! !
