Dreams lay ‘neath the pillow at night
Downy soft and hid from sight
Ghostly whispers haunting sleep
Breathing secrets b‘tween the sheets
A feathered touch of finger tips
The hottest lips to ever kiss
Fire that makes the body sweat
Hunger that the fire begets
Though the night, toss and turn
To find a cure, to ease the burn
An ache that never felt as sweet
As on the wings of slumber creeps
Soft and low, with naught a sound
In tender sighs it coils around
A lullaby in sweet refrain
Wafting through a muddled brain
Mesmerized by a sirens' song
The flames can't help but linger on
A spark to light the distant shore
Breathless for a minute more
Hold so close, oh pillow sweet
Whispers soft, and oh so fleet
Singing songs to warm the night
Echoes of my heart's delight
Hold so close, oh pillow sweet
Hold close the fire fed memories
A flame that burns on without fear
Burning steady…year and year
