Holiness Before Worship Poem by Christen Kuikoua

Holiness Before Worship

Worship is sacred and specific.
For the Scripture says,
"Those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth."
Therefore, true worship exists, and anything outside the counsel of God can become empty worship before the altar.

O worship minstrel, live a life of holiness,
for you carry a sound that invites the presence of God upon the earth.
If worship is offered rightly, the glory of God will always descend.

Yet before the melody, before the instruments, before the songs of praise,
the first sacrifice upon the altar is you.
For you are not merely a vessel to be used,
but a living sacrifice, yielded wholly unto God.

It is your consecration, your obedience, and your holiness
that make room for the manifestation of His glory.
For the Lord does not only seek skilled hands,
but pure hearts surrendered before Him.

Therefore rejoice, O Israel,
for the Lord your God dwells among the praises of His people.
Sing unto Him with flutes and tambourines;
lift your voice with shouts of praise and thanksgiving unto the King of Glory.

Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty.
Amen.
