Holy Man Poem by Juan Olivarez

Holy Man

Convictions are strong, within your soul,
And yes I know the sorrow you bear.
Inside of you beats a heart of pure gold,
you are a good priest, and today that is rare.

You pray for the ones that fell by the way,
and tears fill your eyes as you try to do good.
Things will get better, and you'll see the day,
your works and your struggles, will start bearing fruit.

Of your past, we all know, the demons you fought,
and came out triumphant after the fray.
You found the peace, that your soul had sought,
and you are a rock to this very day.

Your life is a gleaming, example of hope,
to all lost in the wastelands hiding away.
Listening to you, I have learned to cope,
As I carry my cross, along lifes highway.

Father, not many can carry the good news,
with a fire stoked from heaven above.
When you are speaking, none sleep in the pews,
continue preaching, your message of love.

Dedicated to Father John Corapi with my respects.
