Sometimes I wonder
what the future holds
where I'll be
when there's no one left to hold.
Whether there'll be a ledge
on the mountain I'm climbing
or someone else waiting
when I make it to the top.

When I think of this
I hope
that this will be you
That you'll come and help me up
like you always do.

But something about this
tells me I'll be alone
calling in the dark
but you won't even know.

Sometimes I fear
That you'll wonder where I went
If I stopped caring
'Maybe that's why she left.'

But please keep in mind
that this wasn't my choice
I was kicking and screaming
but soon lost my voice.

I've been here a while now
and I'm still sitting here
I wonder
if you'll come here to save me
like Peter saved MJ
but unless if you have that teleporter made
I think I'm out of luck.

Remember how we used to talk about time?
How we wished we could stop it,
Even just for a while?
I remember promising I'd always be back
so long as matches still burn
when you strike it against the box
or little Iron Man's sitting
on your countertop
I'll always find my way home.

Because no matter how I see it
I find you every time
and I'd give anything
to see you smile
hear you crack another joke
or tell me another pickup line.

Because even though
they've never worked on me
you still give me butterflies
when you tell me you love me
at 3 a.m.

But these little moments
are the ones I love most.

When you poke me randomly
even though I hate it
you still make me smile every time
So just in case if you were still wondering,
these are the moments I live for.
