Home For Thanksgiving Poem by Ima Ryma

Home For Thanksgiving

On Thanksgiving Day I went out
Into my front yard and did see
Something long past its time no doubt.
Halloween's Jack-O-Lantern be
Still sitting in a corner spot.
I should have taken it by now
Out to the trash but I forgot.
It just had slipped my mind somehow.
I walked over to pick it up,
But saw it now was someone's house.
So I left the pumpkin shell - yup,
To be a home for the small mouse.

To ev'ry creature big and small
A Happy Thanksgiving to all.
