Home Is Where Poem by Francis Duggan

Home Is Where

Home is where you live as some does say
And not where you once lived in distance far away
And though one's truth to others seldom does apply
The truth in the saying seems hard to deny
Your home in the past in you lives as a fond memory
But you can only physically live in the now is how it must be
Though to many migrants home is in a distant place
Where today to many there theirs would be a stranger face
The future ahead of us and the past it has gone
And the now we can only live in and life around us goes on
And to many home is the house they do live in today
Though good memories ofa home they once lived in with them does stay
But some memories as is said a lifetime does last
And when some migrants talk of home they talk of the past.
