Home is where the heart is
That's where its always been
I'm met by hugs and kisses
As soon as I walk in
Love blazes like the ardour
Inside the fireplace
Stars twinkle in their eyes
And happy smiles upturn their face
I reminisce, with fondness
Of kodak moments here
The holidays and picture frames
Those memories endear
Though hard times and disaster
Still mar the world around
This is a sanctuary
From life's burdens, that compound
Miles over roads I've traveled
Many journies I've embarked
This name, these vows I've carried
Ever with me, they're hallmarked
Sometimes I felt so lost
Sometimes my spirit felt downtrodden
But the spoken words once given
Were not vanquished or forgotten
I am thankful for the simple joys
And values of Thanksgiving
For the ordinary miracles
And faith that keeps on giving
Yes, home is where the heart is
And to it I've returned
Back to familiar things
Back to the wholesomeness I've yearned
