Hymn Of A Young Man Poem by Bryce Edward Coast

Hymn Of A Young Man

Give me resilience of mine elders that I may weather through the years

Weary, only in my twenties, having cried a sea of tears

Tragedy restrikes like lightning, adding more to this heart's strife

Diffuse the thoughts that drive so many peers to taking their own life

In a world shaken by earthquakes and the ceaseless bombs of war

In a decade I have witnessed things that shook me to the core

We grow to know all's not as wonderful as Louis had once sang

Just in a blink, just in a moment, all could change, with one Big Bang

Oh lord make me be like the sun, that I may rise when I'm bedridden

Be not a hermit of thy dreams, amidst the darkness-remain hidden

With a song, let me find words of inspiration that fuel hope

When others lose their faith and doubt thee, be thou vision, help me cope
