Homecoming Bliss Poem by Diana van den Berg

Homecoming Bliss

The sleepy late afternoon sun
slow-gold embraces the houses and gardens
in amber love and light
like Rembrandt
caressing with light
and protecting with shadow.

It surprises and delights me
every eager homecoming
and I glow in reply
and submit in joy
to the tranquillity.
