Homely Poem by courtney metcalf

Homely

Rating: 4.5

I just need some sort of an anchor
Something that reminds me of myself
When I'm feeling nervous
When Im needing a little help

To remind me of my roots to keep me grounded in life
To keep me feeling comfortable
And keep me feeling alright

To keep life's innocence in sight
When the world makes me uncomfortable with all that's cold
I need a little reminder of peace
A monument of something close

What will I do without you
When I begin to overstress

Because when I start to think of the bad
I try to run it out, remembering the times I had it best

You were my safetynet
I don't want my world to forget
How you calmed
all that went wrong
Made my spirit a little tougher
Kept my mind strong
