Homer And Tolstoy

The immortal divines in Homer
are powerful and cause mortals distress.
Homer cannot suspend his epithets
without threat that he'll suffer their wrath.

Half-divine, or more,
with epithets about the upper lip of little princess
growing tiresome,
Tolstoy can qualmlessly kill her off.
