Homo Sapiens Poem by Karpop Riba

Homo Sapiens

Humans...such a nuanced breed
From their whimsical idiosyncrasies to their existential need.
They erect towering edifices and commute in luxurious cars
But in the grand scheme of things, do they really see the stars?

Their quest for love and admiration is an eternal pursuit..
In this dog-eat-dog world, who's the top dog, who is mute?
As they overindulge and undermine their bodacious vices,
Do they truly understand the implications or pay the prices?

Their vehement debates on politics, race, and conflicting views,
Display a vast array of attitudes, opinions, and oftentimes refute.
They find solace in melodic beats, rhythmic dancing, and singing too,
But is it merely an escape from the chaos or an art form renewed?

Humans! complex and multifaceted, embody the unique,
The good, the bad, the ugly, all within them do mystique.
Like an enigma, they keep unraveling, surprising all,
Ever evolving, yet sometimes stagnant, standing tall.

For all their grandeur and flaws, they stimulate the senses,
With life's simple pleasures, unadulterated joy and exciting pretenses
In this grand tapestry of existence, they weave a colorful thread,
A spectrum of emotions, experiences, and memories in their stead.
