Could I deny you by my prosperity?
Could I praise effort and hard work
for my success and good fortune?

And must I now profane your name
To hurl at you anger and accusations
For my deficiencies and misfortune?

Ah! But how easy it is to accept credit?
How difficult ’tis to acknowledge blame?

Lord teach me to live courageously
To face each day with honor and valor
And whatever situation life throws at me
