Hope And Pray Poem by Melanie Weeks

Hope And Pray

Almost so bad,
We can hardly breathe.
Your mother's so sick,
Your grandfather can't breathe.

All this piled up on your court date.
Your lawyer's twisted.
Your stepdad's horrible drunk.

Your so lost in this world of pain.
You don't want to lose your family,
You don't want to lose your freedom.

So much pain.
So much, it's driving
My love crazy.
Your brother is worried,
I'm stuck without much help.

I feel so useless.
I don't know what to do.
I'm made to help,
Yet in this, so far,
I can't.
I'm so lost,
So useless, it's true.

Here in this life,
It's so complicated.
This state we're in,
It's so unclear.
Who's in it for justice,
Who just don't even care.
Who's on somebody else's payroll.

I'm sitting here,
Near hysterics.
I'm home. Your brother's home.
Your under the constant threat
Of being beat up by your stepdad,
Or going to jail.

Oh, baby, my Pooh,
It'll all be ok.
All we can do
Is Hope and Pray.
