Hot Noon Of May Poem by Anil Kumar Panda

Hot Noon Of May

the birds sang
one after another
like they are in agreement
not to intrude one another;

the whispering of wind
has stopped since long time
and cattle are resting under
trees, chewing the cud and dozing;

the noon time is silent
squeezed by the sandy shores
the river feels the pain and sleeping;

a few stray dogs run
in the streets with their tongues
hanging dropping saliva in search
of shelter in the burning noon of May
